The History

In the beginning...

Before the old TKE house was torn down, the third floor was where the new members at the time would live. So when the building as torn down in 2017, a group of members began to rent out this unit and began calling it, "third floor". The very original group of members that lived here were Anthony Wahby, Joshua Cash, Brady Hughes, and Matt Jefferson.

The house at the time was your standard college house. Decorated with a few random flags and beer signs and its fair share of couches. It was not until Drake Keating moved in during the Fall of 2021 that the house began to take on a new form. The brothers of house would host many TKE events at the house, as well of events for their respective student organizations. The house was a place where those who wanted a bit of a break from the party room at TKE could come and gather. Whether it be a smaller party enviornment, or to watch shitty horror movies, the house was very much establishing itself as THE Tau Kappa Epsilon annex house.

The Rise of Room 101

The Fall of Room 101

Once moving into 3rd floor, the quality of what 101 was drastically and quickly dropped. In other words, it was a literal fucking ses pit. The people in the room would never clean and would constantly burn incense to cover up any smell. Overnight, 101 went from a niche group with a room bar with an old TV into one of the grossest rooms in the house that everyone was uncomfortable walking into.Sometime during early May of 2022, one of the people living in 101 brought a 9mm pistol into the room. The clip was completely full and a bullet was left in the chamber. One of the other people living in the room picked up the handgun and started playing with it. While playing with it, the gun went off and shot into the neighboring room. The bullet flew less than a foot away from two peoples heads. Shortly after this the two members were kicked out of the house leaving only one person remaining in the room.By the end of the semester, the entirety of what was in 101 was gutted out, either taken apart or thrown away. What was kept was stored at 3rd Floor to later be used for the construction of the 3rd floor Bar.

Where We Are Today

As of the Fall semester of 2024, third floor is in a postion of making tons of fun items with the to leave for the house. Like this website! Other things like, coasters, t-shirts, a documentary, and plenty of other random fun items to leave for the house and its future inhabitants. We are placing an active effort to have members earlier in their time at TKE to visit for movies nights and other events of the sort so that they can come over here, have a good time, and see what the house is all about. So one day, they will want to live here and contribute to what third floor is all about.
